Cancer Society of Maldives (CSM)

Cancer Society of Maldives (CSM) is a national community based (non-profit/non-governmental) organization formed for the purpose of reducing the incidence and impact of cancer in the Maldives. We aim to contribute towards the well being of our community by creating awareness about cancer, providing support and circulating information and resources so as to enhance the experience of people fighting against cancer. It is one of our top priorities to conduct cancer research and to create a cancer patient registered data base in the Maldives.

Maldives Association of Physical Disables (MAPD)

Maldivian Association of Persons with Disabilities (MAPD) was established in 2013 under Ministry of Home Affairs with the objectives of protecting the rights of people with disabilities and empowering them to become productive citizens. Additionally, MAPD advocates for equal opportunities in education, health, employment, accessibility, disability sports and training for them. Similarly, MAPD also works in collaboration with government institutions and NGOs to empower and build the capacity of the youth community with disabilities by providing them the means of achieving technical skills which can be used to integrate themselves into an inclusive environment, thereby producing skilled youth with disablities.

Maldivian Thalassaemia Society (MTS)

Maldivian Thalassaemia Society (MTS) is a non-governmental organization which came into existence in the year 1994 – the sole purpose being to improve and enhance quality of lives of Thalassaemics in Maldives. With support from other parents, the co-founders Mohamed Moosa Didi and Mohamed Rasheed Ibrahim, both parents of Thalassaemic patients, founded this Society because of the urgent need for such an organization at that time.

Tiny Hearts of Maldives

Tiny Hearts of Maldives is an association established in memory of Keyaan, the beautiful first born son of Ali Muaz and Fathimath Hishmath Faiz, the founders of this association. Keyaan was born with a congenital heart condition, which resulted in his untimely death at the tender age of 2 and half months.

The experience of their son’s condition lead them to realize the critical need for access to information and assistance in dealing with specific health issues that affect newborns, infants and young children in general, in the Maldives.
